The inside of this period terraced Dublin home is shockingly contemporary

Just one word: wow.

You’d do well to pass by some of the houses along Merrion Road on your way to work and not want to have a bit of a snoop.

The gafs along there generally tend to be giant, big, enormous, and any other synonym you can think of that means they could probably fit about eight of our houses comfortably inside them.

In other words: they’re really nice homes and we’re jealous.

Another really nice home on Merrion Road is this one – No. 244.

Doesn’t it look quaint and mildly unextravagant?

Would you give it a glance and think it’s probably lovely but nothing special?

You’d be surprised then to learn that it’s got a huge garden area, a stunning modern feel to the interior, and is currently being sold for €825,000.

Yeah, we were too, in fairness to us – it certainly doesn’t look that way from the outside.

Refurbished in 2013, architects wanted No. 224 to retain its classic look while giving it a contemporary edge and, we have to say, they certainly succeeded.

Just look at this divine dining area.

And the intensely sleek kitchen.

And the mezzanine space featuring a glass wall overlooking the garden.

And the size of the garden itself.

And the size of the bedroom.

And the size of… whatever this part of the house is.

We’re not entirely sure but we know that we like it.

Just beautiful.

Now all we need is close to one million euro and we’re sorted.

No bother.
