Special passport cards for Irish citizens will be launched in the coming weeks according to reports this week.
The news was revealed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Charlie Flanagan, who stated that the cards will be launched in the next three weeks.
The new cards will make travel within the European Union easier for Irish people, as they will be able to visit these countries without bringing their full passport.
The cards had previously been scheduled to launch in July, but were delayed due to issues with the design.
