Thanks to Ed Sheeran, Christina Hendricks and Emma Stone, flame haired folk are having a moment.

Now, a new study has found that being blessed with a red crop might be just what you need to kick-start your career.

According to a new study carried out by the University of Tennessee and Dalton State, redheads are more likely to be exceptional than become extinct.

When looking at redheads and the trends in business management, researchers found redheads are four times more likely to become the CEO of their workplace.

We know what you’re thinking… How does their hair help them climb their way up the corporate ladder?

The study indicates that possible reasons for this is the perception that redheads are seen as having bold, unique features, which sets them apart from their colleagues.

Other factors that could influence their rise to the top is that bosses can easily distinguish redheads from their more common hair colour counterparts – which makes their work stand out in the workplace.

So while there’s a strong chance that although redheads may not be genetically superior to the rest of us, they stand out for all the right reasons when it comes to promotions.

So next time you think of teasing your ginger friend, remember they could end up being the boss.
