One of the the highlights of Easter is getting our hands on a Creme Egg so we were very concerned when we heard this latest news.
Apparently, Cadbury has decided to change the recipe and replace the Dairy Milk chocolate normally used in a Creme Egg with a “standard cocoa mix” chocolate.
News of the change emerged after consumers noticed that the Creme Egg tasted different than normal, with The Sun approaching the company for an explanation.
Cadbury confirmed that the tasty treat is “no longer Dairy Milk. It’s similar, but not exactly Dairy Milk”.
“We tested the new one with consumers. It was found to be the best one for the Creme Egg, which is why we’ve used it this year.”The Creme Egg has never been called the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Creme Egg. We have never played on the fact that Dairy Milk chocolate was used,” said a spokesperson.
To add insult to injury, the multi-pack of Creme Eggs has now been downsized to include five eggs instead of the usual six.
Needless to say, people are not happy!
