‘Nazi’ smoothies removed from London cafe following complaints

What were they thinking?

What were they thinking?

It’s hard to figure out how companies are still managing to get branding so, so wrong.

We recently found a skirt which featured a slave ship on the front, which obviously got pulled from sale.

A yet a London cafe has found managed to match the offensiveness of that skirt by selling smoothies with swastikas printed on the cup.

The smoothie which contained nuts was called ‘the Nutzy’.

The product was reported to the Campaign Against Antisemitism by a member of the public who lost her family to the Nazi regime.

When the woman approached staff members about product on man told her: ”It was an inverted swastika which was a Hindu symbol of health and prosperity, which is indeed right but the swastika was not inverted, and the Hindu sign includes dots within the symbol.”

He added that the name ”a play on ‘having the nuts’, meaning ‘having the courage’ and was a pun as the drink contains nuts.”

If the name wasn’t close enough to the word Nazi, the symbol on the bottle means that two references to Hitler’s regime were made on the smoothie bottle.

When the woman told him how offensive the drink was and how it personally affected her, he reportedly said: ”London is a free city” according to CAA.

The swastika was removed from the product but the Nutzy drink still remains, with a strange new image of the Pope…

”The next day and the day after, Campaign Against Antisemitism sent volunteers from our investigations team to the shop and found that “Nutzy” was still listed, but out of stock. The following Monday, we found that, “Nutzy” was back in stock, but the swastika had bizarrely been replaced with an image of the Pope waving.”
