In case the last year and a half wasn’t scary enough for you, the hugely popular (and extremely terrifying) Nightmare Realm is coming back to the RDS in Dublin this October.
The spooky experience, which has been running in Dublin for a number of years, is definitely not for the faint of heart. However, after being named the Best European Halloween Attraction, it certainly should be on the bucket-list for Irish horror fans – if you’re brave enough that is.
For the uninitiated, The Nightmare Realm is “an intimate audience participation event in which you will experience your own simulated horror film where participants walk through highly curated mazes designed to entertain and scare you.”
The live experience this year will feature three routes, each one more terrifying than the last.
In the Church of the Damned, participants will have to “survive the horrors of a remote run down village stuck in time with mysterious locals and terrifying creatures roaming the village by night.”

In the next realm, you’ll meet The Butcher Boys, who have a “taste for blood” and “sell meat”, but you won’t want to eat it. Enough said.
The final realm, titled Panic Attack, “does exactly what it says on the tin”. This route features “a twisted blend of all your scariest horror movies, nightmares and worst fears brought to life”.
For those hoping to make it out to the RDS this Halloween, bear in mind that you must be vaccinated, have proof of recovery from Covid-19, or have a negative Covid-19 test. Guests under the age of 18 do not have to present a vaccination cert if they are accompanied by an adult who is vaccinated.
Additionally, as The Nightmare Realm will be operating at 60% capacity, tickets must be booked online in pods of 4, 5 or 6.
