McDonald’s have been forced to apologise to a customer – after she found a Swastika drawn into her food with melted butter.
Charleigh Matice told local news station WTCI 12 how she saw the shocking symbol marking her burger bun when she opened her chicken sandwich in the Morehead City branch in North Carolina.
Ms. Matice said she was particularly offended by the symbol as her grandfather was a soldier in World War II.
Speaking to news station WTCI 12, Matice said:
“Is this a joke? Does somebody really think they're funny? Many people had died under it and because of it, and it’s not something that should be taken lightly.”
The manager of the McDonald’s, Dulcy Purcell, reportedly offered to replace Ms Matice’s food and has since fired the employee who made the offensive sandwich:
“We are very sorry for the service that our customers received, and to be clear we have terminated the employee who was involved.”
