It’s back!
This weekend marks the return of The Late Late Show (we know, Friday nights are sorted!).
It has been on our screens since 1962, yes 1962, so to be entirely fair, we have learned most of our life lessons from it and indeed, a whole lot more.
Here are 11 of our favourites.

It’s a national institution
Everyone watches The Late Late Show. Everyone.
There’s no show like the Toy Show
It’s the most important event of the year – no nights out should be planned for this time. Epic television.
Gay Byrne taught us a lot
Before Gay Byrne, the subject of sex would certainly never have been broached by Irish broadcasters. This was a video from 1991. We still weren’t talking about it then.
Anything can happen
You could even find the next big boyband.

There’s nothing like a surprise
Look at his face.
Never ever refuse Toy Show tickets
Just, no. Pat will get angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.
Ed Sheeran is a gentleman
We love this one!
There’s always one.
Oh, you know the kind.
John Joe is a legend
What a genius.
You’ll always get something
There’s always something for everyone in the audience.
There’s nothing like reuniting a daughter and her mother.
Get ready for the tears.
You could be chased by a random bird.
Like we said, anything could happen.

The Irish are a cheeky bunch
Brilliant.
We love our mammies
What a man.
