People are rolling tinfoil into perfect spheres and we’ve never felt so relaxed

tinfoil ball

So soothing, so serene.

There are plenty of things people use tinfoil for.

Wrapping up sandwiches is one. Making sure your chicken doesn’t get too brown in the oven is another.

The latest thing a lot of people have been using tinfoil though is not food related at all – it’s sphere related. And we are obsessed.

If you’re at all a fan a watching people cut up Lush products or burn candles until they are melted to a pulp, then the creation of the perfect tinfoil sphere is definitely up your alley.

It’s got everything you’d ever want from a relaxing yet pointless endeavour.

A thing turning into a new thing, a group element, and also a load of wasted time.

Ideal.

The tinfoil into sphere phenomenon has kicked off in Japan and it’s been spreading like wildfire with people of all ages rolling their balls and being delighted at the end.

The tinfoil sphere doesn’t actually look that easy though.

Once you’ve got it in a ball you then have to hammer it for a bit and then polish it with your finger until it’s completely smooth.

Apparently, this could take anywhere from a couple of hours to literal days.

We don’t know how much free time you have, but we think we may have to give this one a miss.
