Pinterest reveals its top Christmas tree trends for 2017 (and they’re weird)

Er... think we'll skip the 'trends' this year

Olivia Hayes

Christmas is the most wonderful time of year.

Except when you have to drag the Christmas tree down from the attic, detangle all of the Christmas lights, replace the baubles that have broken and hoover up all of the sparkly crap that ends up on the floor.

Exhausting.

However, while we complain about the effort that goes into putting up a Christmas tree, we’re not too sure about Pinterest’s alternative.

Pinterest is usually where we go to find out what the latest trends are, and 2017’s Christress tree trends don’t actually involve a tree at all.

Instead, they include pineapples and washi tape.

Yes, first on the list are pineapple Christmas trees, so you’re house can look more ~*summery*~ this festive season.

It includes putting baubles on the spikey leaves and… well, that’s it.

While it might save a bit of money, we think we’ll pass on this one (also, what happens when it goes bad and smelly?).

Next on the trend list is making a Christmas tree by taping the shape of one to your wall.

Washi tape is the popular choice which is basically just patterned or coloured tape.

While it does look cute, we don’t think we’d have it as our stand-out piece.

Sorry Pinterest, we’ll be sticking to dragging down the Christmas tree again this year.
