The bank holiday weekend is finally upon us (woohoo!) and it wouldn’t be a holiday in Ireland without a bit of weather banter!
Forecasts for our fabulous Friday evening this evening say that rain will continue into the night in the west (get your brollies out ladies!), but counties in the east should stay reasonably dry. Winds are meant to pick up during the night though so keep a hold of your hats!
Saturday will see more wind and some scattered showers (surprise, surprise) HOWEVER the good news for the east and the south of the country is that it should continue to be dry. And just as we give you good news, we whip it straight back off you as you had better enjoy this dry spell while it lasts, as heavy rain is set to hit Saturday night.
The highlight of the weekend will be Sunday and Monday though (yay!), as although the wind continues throughout the remainder of the weekend Sunday will see some dry, sunny spells, with only a few scattered showers.
There will be some showers on the bank holiday Monday itself, especially in the northwest of the country with warnings there for spot flooding. Despite the wind though, the rest of the country is set for a mild day with temperatures even forecast to reach 17 degrees in part of Leinster – warm enough for plenty of bank holiday fun!
Don't forget the clocks go back on Saturday night too - an extra hour in bed for everyone (winning!)
