If you’re a fan of taking selfies and plan to tie the knot, chances are this latest wedding trend will be taking over your invite list.

Taking centre stage of the nuptial planning process, it turns out you better start brushing up on those winning smiles.

Perfecting the paper trail, couples are now opting to use selfies, or professional engagement shots, to decorate their wedding invites and save-the-dates.

Speaking to The Bridal Guide about the turn to feature-photography invites, Angela Ferrara, of Pear Tree Greetings said:

“Couples are spending money on fun, professional engagement photos so why not use more of them?

Adopted as a way to personalise the stationary options otherwise available to all couples, the feature photography is now becoming the most popular way to make your mark on the big day.

Want to stay on trend with tone and style?

Opt for pale shades such as brushed gold, blush, champagne and pewter.

Speaking about the trends of the new season, Ferrara recommends paring back on the brighter colours:

“Last year, there was much more colour but now I’m doing more in the way of very elegant, minimalist designs.

“Brides still like the idea of bringing elements of their gown into their stationery suite. That’s where the wide assortment of paper options really shines.”
