If you’re due to be travelling to or from France with Ryanair over the coming days, it might be advisable to contact the operator as several flights have been cancelled as a result of an air traffic control strike.

According to RTE News, a six-day strike by the country’s leading aviation trade union is due to start tomorrow and will impact on many flights from the country. Ryanair will be cancelling operations on several routes, while Aer Lingus is advising passengers to expect delays on selected routes.

A list of Ryanair’s cancelled flights is now available on their website and the airline said that it will be contacting affected customers by phone or email. At present, no flights directly to or from Ireland have been included in the list but those who have booked connecting flights could be hit by the strike.

The industrial action is said to be in opposition to planned cuts, which they say will threaten the “necessary performance and modernisation needed to ensure an efficient air navigation service in France”.
