1. Experience the magic of Disney World, Orlando
No matter how old we get, we’ll never pass up the opportunity to let loose in Disney World. Orlando’s Magic Kingdom is the perfect place to unleash your inner child for a few action-packed days. From Splash Mountain and The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror, to the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain, there’s no end to the incredible rides within the park.
Disney World is a huge place – the size of a small city, in fact – so if you want to see and do as much as you can, make sure to take advantage of any free Disney Magical Express transfers from your hotel.
2. Take in the Grand Canyon via Vegas
Strike one of the Seven Wonders of The World off your travel bucket list with a visit to Arizona’s Grand Canyon. The best way to do it? Book yourself a five-day trip to Las Vegas and take a day in the middle to witness this phenomenon of nature before returning to soak up the parties of the famous Vegas strip.
The grandeur of the world’s most famous canyon and its breathtaking surrounding landscape will leave you feeling pretty tiny, in a good way. The awe-inspiring landscape will make you realise it’s so much more than just a view.
3. Soak up the blues in New Orleans
This vibrant city in the heart of the Deep South has long been on our travel wishlist. Not only is New Orleans the home of the blues, it’s also world-renowned for its incredible music, food, nightlife and a whole lot more. A few sunny days spent wandering around the French Quarter soaking up some of the best jazz and blues in the world sounds pretty fantastic to us.
The best way to experience this journey is with a fly-drive holiday, starting in Atlanta and travelling up through some of America’s most famous and historical cities, like Lynchburg, Chattanooga, and of course Presley county itself, where a visit to Graceland is as must.
4. Explore Boston and Cape Cod
You’ll feel right at home during a visit to America’s most Irish city. Boston is one of the prettiest cities in the US, famed for its small winding streets, great bars and restaurants and vibrant harbour area. Culture vultures will love walking through the hallowed grounds of Harvard and soaking in the incredibly rich history of the city.
And if you’re making the trip to Boston, our advice is to combine a city stay with a beach holiday in beautiful Cape Cod, just a short drive from Boston itself.
5. Manhattan
It doesn’t matter how many times you visit New Yoek, there’s always a new corner of the city to fall in love with. Whether you’re a fan of the theatre, a shopaholic, or simply looking for a taste of life in a fast-paced city, there’s something for everyone in the Big Apple.
If you want to see as many sights as possible during a short stay, an open top bus tour is the way to go. From the Empire State Building and the High Line, to the 911 Memorial and Brooklyn Bridge, a trip to New York will be jam-packed full of adventure.
A visit to Broadway is a must, of course, and for a special treat, why not take a helicopter ride around the Statue of Liberty.
6. Party hard in Miami
Miami isn’t known as The Magic City for nothing. If you’re looking for a serious party holiday, this is the place to go. Chic, cosmopolitan, and packed full of great boutiques, trendy restaurants and world-class clubs, Miami is a haven for party-goers.
Hire an open-top car drive down the beachfront with the wind in your hair, and pay a visit to Little Havana with its vibrant murals and Walkway of the Stars.
When you’re all partied out, take a trip to the nearby island city of Key West to relax in the sunshine. Explore the coral reef with a day of diving, chill out with a cocktail and soak up some rays. Bliss.
