Surge in pregnancy test sales in Ireland due to #Covid-19 lockdown

Jade Hayden

Naturally.

There has been a surge in pregnancy test sales due to Ireland’s Covid-19 lockdown, proving that nothing on this earth will stop Irish people from getting the ride.

And as long as they’re getting it from people who live in the same household as them, that’s a-okay.

Dealz is one retailer that has seen a considerable increase in sales of their pregnancy tests. Since lockdown began, the discount store has seen weekly sales of the €1.50 First Vue pregnancy test rise by 25 percent.

What’s more is that sales of pregnancy tests are at their highest in Dublin, Kerry, Cork, Cavan, and Carlow, with the highest increase in sales coming from Tallaght, Dublin.

Watch out for the baby boom of December 2020 and January 2021, so.

“If you’ve been wondering how people have been spending their time in lockdown, we’ve found the answer,” said Sharon Sheridan, Dealz country manager.

“Couples under the same roof don’t need to worry about social distancing and as our sales figures show, they’ve been getting up close and personal, finding more ways to relax than watching Netflix or doing jigsaws.”

Indeed. Let’s just hope they get the result they’re looking for.
