We played with them for hours.
Tamagotchis were like our first phones – we were unhealthily attached to them, checked them every moment we could and when it went dead/was taken off us, we were grumpy. Very grumpy.
We played with them so much that many of our primary schools confiscated them… just like they did our phones in secondary school.
But now, it has been confirmed that Tamagotchis are making a comeback, and we kinda can’t wait for the kids of today to see how much fun they used to be.
Between feeding them and making sure they poop and don’t die, there’s a lot to be done with the little virtual pets.
However, this time around, there’s going to be a few small changes to the toy.
Bandi, the creators of the toy, said that it’s been ‘upgraded’, but many reports claim that the only change is the size – it’s 20 percent smaller, coming in at 1.5 inches tall and 1.25 inches wide.
However, according to Engadget, the smaller size means limited functions.
Beforehand, you were able to discipline your Tamagotchi if it misbehaved or play games with it for exercise… but not this one.
This Tamagotchi “sticks to the basics,” and basically only eats and poops.
The anniversary edition of the toy will makes its comeback to stores on November 5 and will cost €15.
