The first EVER official Nutella café is opening this month

Cathy Donohue

Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh.

The world is getting its first EVER official Nutella cafe and we are drooling at the very thought of it.

So there’s a slight drawback in that the venue is located in Chicago but let’s note two things, that’s an excuse for a trip to The Windy City and as it’s guaranteed to be a runaway success, we predict official Nutella restaurants popping up all over the place.

Anyway, here’s what you have to look forward to according to Eater, an extensive menu offering all kinds of Nutella-themed delights with gelato, crepes, an entire bakery section and the Pièce de résistance, ‘Nutella specialities’ which include Mocha Shortbread Cookies.

In addition to the sweet treats, savoury items will be on offer but even these have a Nutella theme, according to The Chicago Tribune, with the gruyere and speck ham panini fitting right in because speck ham comes from the very same Italian region where the hazelnut chocolate goodness is made.

Angela Baird, the director of operations at Brand Innovation Group worked with Ferrero USA, Nutella’s parent company to make the Nutella dream a reality.

“It’s designed to make you feel like you’re actually walking into a jar of Nutella. Everything screams ‘Nutella'”.

While there are a number of Nutella-based cafés already, this is the first EVER Nutella Café ran by Ferrero, the people we have to thank for bringing the moreish spread into our lives.

It opens on May 31st and we’re already planning ways to make this trip a reality.
