The Girl on The Train author is back with another book

Cassie Delaney

A lot of people read the Girl on The Train. 18 million people to be exact.

The book, written by Paula Hawkins, was an international bestseller and box office hit starring Emily Blunt.

The psychological thriller was told from the point of view of three women: Rachel, Anna, and Megan. Rachel Watson is a 32-year-old alcoholic reeling from the dissolution of her marriage to Tom, who left her for another woman, Anna Watson. Rachel’s drinking has caused her to lose her job; she frequently binges and has blackouts. After a night of heavy drinking Rachel awakens to find herself bloody and injured, with no memories of the night before but certain that she has done something she will regret. She learns that one of the top stories of the day is that Megan is missing.

From there the story is completely gripping.

Now Hawkins is back with Into The Water, another psychological thriller written in Hawkins’ now-signature style.

The story revolves around two sisters living in a small riverside town.

“This story has been brewing for a good while. For me there is something irresistible about the stories we tell ourselves, the way voices and truths can be hidden consciously or unconsciously, memories can be washed away and whole histories submerged,” Hawkins said.

“Then two sisters appeared, and the novel began to form.”

Into the Water will be available on May 2, 2017.
