The iPhone Trick That Will Save So Much Time

When it comes to email, we tend to fall into one of two groups.

Those who have to delete them immediately because that bright red icon is just too annoying to deal with and those who let them pile up and up and up until the final figure is astronomical.

Try as we might to keep on top of our inboxes, sometimes it gets out of hand and you end up with something like this.

However, the Buzzfeed folk have come up with a way around this problem.

Usually, when you delete your emails, you’ll end up archiving them, as that seems to be the standard iPhone setting.

However, you can change that by going to Settings and selecting the email account you want.

Once that’s done, you tap ‘Advanced’ and where it says “Move Discarded Message Into”, you change it from “Archive Mailbox” to “Deleted Mailbox”.

This allows you to go through your inbox at a rapid pace, sending all unwanted mails to the trash instead of archive.

If you constantly archive old mail, your inbox will never actually become clean and this is an upsetting thought.

Oh and if you accidentally erase something, just shake your phone and you should get the option to undo.
