The latest world university rankings have been released this week, and some of Ireland’s top universities took a bit of a tumble down the list.
The updated rankings show that while Trinity College Dublin is still Ireland’s highest placed university, the Dublin college has fallen from 71
st place to 78
th place.
It is the only Irish university to make the top 100 though.
Next Irish university in line is UCD, which has dropped to 154
th place, while UCC has dropped three places down to 233
rd.

There was good news for NUI Galway, DCU, UL and Maynooth University though, who all rose up the rankings in the new list.
Elsewhere, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
topped the list, with the usual suspects of Harvard, Cambridge and Stanford following in its wake.
