There’s a cafe dedicated to Cadbury Creme Eggs opening in Dundrum and we’re drooling

Leslie Ann Horgan

Hand us a Creme Egg and we’re instantly kids again.

There’s something about the colourful foil, the tasty goo and the fact that you just absolutely cannot be expected to share one with your siblings (try chopping that one in three mum!) that takes us back to being school kids.

Later this month, Cadbury is bringing together like-minded souls to reminisce about the giddy old days at a special Creme Egg pop-up in Dundrum Town Centre.

From February 27 until March 1, the Cadbury Creme Eggstra-Vision Café will be open in the centre’s town square. Set out like an old-school video store, patrons of the cafe can take a trip back in time as they enjoy three courses of what’s described as a ‘Creme Egg-stravagent’ menu with their friends.

You might finally be able to settle that classroom debate over who could eat the most Creme Eggs in one sitting!

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance – and they are available from 10am on Tuesday February 18. You can reserve your spot at one of the daily sittings by clicking here.

The cafe will be open at 6.30pm on Thursday 27 and Friday 28, as well as a 1pm on Saturday 29 – yes, it’s a leap year! – and Sunday March 1. Guests who want to share the love on the day will be able to make a donation to mental health charity Aware.

There will also be a limited number of walk-in spots available across the weekend, but booking is the only way to guarantee that you get to enjoy the chocolatey feast.

Once you have the tickets in the bag, you can et yourself in the mood for the Creme Egg Cafe, by checking out Cadbury’s new ‘Eatertainment’ site.  There you’ll find a host of videos dedicated to all things Creme Egg, including a hilarious mindfulness section with its very own ‘Gooru’.
