These Irish-made literary inspired candles are a book lover’s dream

Keeley Ryan

Wow!

From immersing you to a whole new universe to offering a simple way to relax, a good book can do just about anything.

Naturally, with a mug of hot chocolate and a relaxing candle (especially in this kind of weather).

Which is why we were particularly delighted to find out one of our favourite Irish companies have made a literary inspired collection.

In honour of World Book Day on March 1, The Bearded Candlemakers launched their Book Lovers Collection.

There are five soothing candles in the collection, which draws inspiration from everything from Alice in Wonderland to the Lord of the Rings.

With notes of incense, black current and peppermint, Stardust has its hints of secrets from the other Lands of Faery.

Meanwhile, The Shire “may help you drift off to another Earth” with a mix of notes of freshly cut grass, woodsmoke, heather.

Settle in and drift off to another world with Through The Wardrobe, which has notes of Turkish delight, mint and pine.

Jasmine tea, fudge and aniseed are the notes that come through the curiouser and curiouser Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Elder Wands & Phoenix Feathers smells of cedar wood, woodsmoke and nutmeg – and will take you to your favourite cosy spot faster than you can say Accio butterbeer.

The candles are created at their workspace in the garden of their home “nestled between the Mourne Mountains and the Irish Sea.”

And, even better, each one has an approximate burn time between 50 to 55 hours.

They cost £20 (or around €22.50), with a flat shipping rate of £5.95 (approximately €6.50).
