The Watergarden Centre in Thomastown, Kilkenny received quite the Christmas surprise this year.
The non-residential centre cares for adults with special needs, providing them with a tranquil and therapeautic environment. Everyone gets to experience the changing seasons, becoming close to nature and in the process, creating meaningful work that makes such a difference and contributes to a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Everyone at the centre works extremely hard to make each day a great one and together, they make a magnificent team. The Watergarden Centre signed a while back to be in with a chance to have their Christmas wish come true, with the help of One4all.
They came together and decided that their one wish was to have a big Christmas party — one they’d remember for years to come and one they would share with those who mean so much to them.
One employee said;
“We just said, we’ll chance our luck by entering, and it turns out our luck was in. They really deserve it, especially the staff and the residents because we do work hard.
“It’s a big treat and it means a lot to us.”
As part of the superb prize, everyone from the Watergarden Centre headed by bus to the Hotel Kilkenny where they donned themselves in dressy outfits and comfy ones too (too right!) and made the most out of a very special evening. They were treated to an impeccable dinner, drinks, extra party attire and music. (Yep, they danced the night away.)
It was just what they dreamed of for Christmas — their community, coming together, going all out and having a VERY merry time indeed! Just watch:
