This Girl’s Post About The Public Reaction to Her Period Stains is Going Viral

I AM NOT ASHAMED

Cassie Delaney

Last week, a girl named Anushka Dasgupta got a surprise period. We’ve all been there, mid-commute, fear setting in as we realise TOM has arrived.

Unprepared, Anushka bled through her clothes and ended up with a stain on her pants. She explains on Facebook that many approached her, asking her to cover up.

Anushka shared a special message for those women.

In a post that has now been shared thousands of times she wrote:

I will take out a sanitary napkin and show you how it works while you can teach me how to pee in public (because clearly you’re not ashamed, and neither am I)”.

Anushka even shared a picture of her stained garments and a sanitary pad.

“I AM NOT ASHAMED.
I AM NOT ON MY *period*.
I AM ON MY PERIOD”.

She exclaimed proudly at the end of the post.

I came home today at four minutes past nine after a long walk, a metro journey and a 10 minute bus ride. There’s…
