U2 to play two Croke Park gigs as they tour The Joshua Tree

Fans will be delighted with this news.

The gig(s) to watch for 2017.

U2’s magnificent album The Joshua Tree will always form a large part of their setlist at any gig because tracks like Where the Streets Have No Name, With or Without You and I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For are absolutely iconic.

Truth be told, there isn’t a bad song on the album, so the reports that U2 look set to play two dates at Croker Park will absolutely delight their fans.

The Irish Times are reporting that the band will be playing two nights at GAA HQ in July.

It seems that the tour will also cause a slight delay in the release of their new album, Songs of Experience, which has been put back until Autumn 2017, but if these gigs come to fruition, that’s a small price to pay.

While nothing has officially been confirmed yet, the same report states that the North American leg of their tour is expected to begin in Vancouver on May 12th before arriving in Europe.  Noel Gallagher has also been mentioned as a possible supporting act on the European dates.

An official announcement from the band is expected tomorrow.
