*Wipes away tear*
It’s coming to that time of year again, as Irish people living in far-flung destinations around the world start to plan their trips home for the festive season.
Irish mammy Phil from Tallaght in Co. Dublin got the surprise of her life though this week, when her son Conor – who she hadn’t seen in two years – landed on her doorstep with the ultimate present: the news that he was home to stay.
Conor had previously told his mammy that he’d be home from Australia just in time for Christmas on December 23rd, and that both himself and his girlfriend Katherine would be staying in the Emerald Isle for just five weeks.
Can you imagine her surprise, and indeed the rest of the family’s, when he revealed that they were home to stay?
This is pretty special.
