This is a really powerful message.
As part of its latest ad campaign, Guinness, in its own inimitable style, is telling the extraordinary tale of legendary music producer, John Hammond.
Working in New York during the 1930s, a pre-Civil Rights Movement era when racial tensions were high, Hammond played a pivotal role in bringing together black and white musicians.
Undeterred by New York's segregated nightlife, Hammond went to clubs and bars across the city to find new talent, discovering musicians like Billie Holiday and Count Basie along the way.
He went on to sign these artists to Columbia Records, giving them an incredible platform to be heard not only by black audiences but by music lovers across America and eventually the world over.
