We’re not too sure how we feel about this.
We’ve all dodged a text or said that we’re ‘five minutes away’ even though we haven’t even left the house yet.
Well, Whatsapp’s new feature will allow your friends to see where you are… just like Snapchat’s snap map.
However, you will be able to choose whether to turn the map on or not, and if you do, your friends will be able to see your location for either 15 minutes, an hour or eight hours.
In a statement, WhatsApp said: “Whether you’re meeting up with friends, letting loved ones know you’re safe, or sharing your commute, Live Location is a simple and secure way to let people know where you are.
“This end-to-end encrypted feature lets you control who you share with and for how long. You can choose to stop sharing at any time or let the Live Location timer simply expire.”
All you have to do to turn your location on is open a chat and tap on the Location option in the attach button and choose Share Live Location.
