Woman Faked Being Deaf for Nine Months to Keep Boyfriend

There's telling a little white lie. Then there is this.

It really does take all sorts.

While we’ve all told a little white lie at the beginning of a relationship, one woman has taken it to a new and terrifying level, faking deafness for nine full months.

The whole sorry story is reenacted on a new American reality TV series, appropriately titled My Crazy Love.

The woman, a waitress known only as Tina, told how she met an attractive man in Alaksa but froze when he approached her.

She said:

“I was frozen, I don’t know why.

“I look at the guy and say, “I’m deaf”.

“He just looks down at me, grabs my shoulder and yells “my name is Chris”.”

Tina went on to explain how she kept up the charade, preventing not to hear dogs barking or car horns honking. She added that her invented condition was a bonus between the sheets, however, saying she could be as loud as she wanted.

The act was made easier when Chris went on a three-month fishing trip.

“It’s just an unspoken rule,” she said. “If your man is going out fishing, you don’t tell him any lies, secrets or nothing like that.”

My Crazy Love debuts tomorrow, October 28th on the Oxygen network in the US.
