We’ve all considered getting ink done but ever thought about getting it on your eyeball?

Us neither.

It is a thing though, and one woman has just shared her bad experience of it online.

Scleral tattooing involves injecting the sclera, the white of the eye, with ink and is a relatively new and rare procedure.

Catt Gallinger from Ottawa in Canada posted some rather horrific photos of her poor eyeball on Facebook after her tattoo went wrong.

She also told of how she’s lost sight in one eye.

Catt, a model, said that she thought the tattoo would make her “feel more at home” in her body, but she now believes her career is over.

“As of today, I have no intention on ever modelling again,” she wrote on Facebook.

“I don’t see myself ever being comfortable enough to do another shoot. I can barely look at myself except for when I have to do my treatments.”

Catt has been treated but is not hopeful of a recovery.

“It has been agreed by both doctors and the surgeon that my eyesight will NOT get better. It will either go completely or stay a blurry mess.

“There is hemorrhage and sclera tearing from the size of needle used, depth and amount if ink.

“They are also concerned that the equipment was not sterile and that there is an infection stuck in with the excess ink.”

She said that she’s sharing her story online to educate and warn others.

“I am sharing this to warn you to research who you get your procedures by as well as how the procedure should be properly done.

“People, please, don’t make my mistake. Please.”
