He broke the news on Twitter.

Blink-182 bassist and frontman Mark Hoppus has revealed that he is battling cancer and undergoing treatment.

The lead man posted a snap of himself in the hospital getting the treatment, but quickly deleted it which made fans very concerned.

Mark has since released a statement to confirm that he has been diagnosed with cancer, but never disclosed what type of cancer he is suffering from.

The pop-punk singer said that although it “sucks”, he’s still got a positive outlook despite still being scared.

He said in the statement on Twitter that he began chemotherapy three months ago, with still a long way to go but is looking forward to coming out the other side.

Mark wrote: “For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.”

“I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all.”

The original picture Mark tweeted has been saved by fans, and he can be seen hooked up to an IV drip, saying: “Yes hello. One cancer treatment, please.”

With the news breaking, Mark’s bandmates Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge were quick to share their support.

Drummer Travis told E! News: “Mark is my brother and I love and support him. I will be with him every step of the way on stage and off and can’t wait for us to play together again soon.”

He also posted a snap of himself with Mark on Instagram, while Tom took to Twitter to share some love.

Tom wrote: “I too, have been aware of @markhoppus’s cancer diagnosis for awhile now. And to add to his own words that he used today, I would also like to say that he is strong, and a super-human who is pushing through this difficult obstacle with a wide-open heart. #WeHaveHisBack.”

Tom may have left Blink-182 back in 2015, but it seems that the pair have stayed pals this whole time.
