We were beginning to worry that we may never see him back on Irish shores but it has been confirmed today that the one and only Damien Rice will play a surprise gig in Whelan's next Tuesday night, 13th of May.
The singer-songwriter has announced a few festival appearances this year but there was no sign of him playing Ireland this year. Thankfully, that's all changed.
Rice released his last album in 2006, the brilliant
9, as the follow-up to the gem that is
O from 2002. As of yet, there has been no word of a follow-up to his two previous albums.
The Kildare singer will take to the stage for a Whelan's 25th anniversary special.
Tickets for the surprise show will go on sale tomorrow, May 8th at 9am from
whelanslive.com and are priced at €25.
This is one not to be missed!
