There was a light at the end of the tunnel for beleagured Garth Brooks fans this afternoon, with Croke Park residents said to be willing to negotiate on giving the green light to five concerts at the stadium.
In a statement, the officers of the Croke Park Community and Handball Centre said that they had “deliberated on the ongoing crisis” surrounding the proposed concerts and signalled that they were willing to meet with other stakeholders to agree on a way forward.
“In the interest of all the Croke Park communities, we are prepared to consider a new direction with a view to facilitating the holding of the Garth Brooks concerts,” it read.
“The Lord Mayor, Cllr. Christy Burke, who has been a central figure in the negotiations, has agreed to bring this latest development to the attention of the various parties involved”
