Irish man performs beautiful tribute to Prince in Cork Pub

A tribute worthy of a prince...

Legendary pop visionary Prince sadly passed away yesterday.

Celebrities and fans all over the world have been sharing their fond memories of the superstar online, showing the huge effect that Prince Rogers Nelson had on music and culture.

One Irish man has penned a moving tribute in Coughlan’s Bar, Co. Cork and it is guaranteed to give you goosebumps.

Jack O’Rourke, singer-songwriter, performed a stunning version of  Nothing Compares To You – the number one hit which was written by Prince.

Jack, speaking on Facebook, shared how Prince influenced him in his profession:

“Prince had such a profound effect on me as a musician and songwriter. I sang this in honour of his purple Highness tonight at Coughlan’s – one of his greatest compositions – devastated that another true genius has left us”.

Nothing Compares To You was first written by Prince in 1985, intended for one of his bands, ‘The Family’.

It was not until 1990 that Irish songstress Sinéad O’Connor achieved global success with Nothing Compares To You – an emotional rendition reflecting on her mother’s death.

We’re sure this tribute is one Prince would be extremely proud of.
