Mark Ronson was “annoyed”by Fleur East’s cover of Uptown Funk on the X Factor, it has been revealed.
The producer was forced to rush release his version of the track with Bruno Mars after the huge reaction to East’s amazing performance on the show and he wasn’t too pleased with the change in plans.
“I was in the States and I saw on Twitter that Nick Hodgson (former member of Kaiser Chiefs) said, ‘Fleur East killing it with Uptown Funk’. I was like, ‘Oh that must be X Factor, that’s cool’. Then I was like, ‘Wait, don’t the X Factor songs come actually out on iTunes?’ and then slowly this logic in my head unfolded. I realised this girl’s cover’s going to come out before our own,” he said.
“So yeah, for a minute I was a little bit annoyed and then we kind of rushed ours, which is good ’cause I think whatever it took to get the song out.”
We’re not sure what he’s so annoyed about, Fleur’s helping hand gave him his first UK number one!
