The Nominees For This Year’s Choice Music Prize Have Been Announced

The live event will be held on March 3rd in Vicar Street

The shortlisted nominees for Ireland’s most prestigious music award have been announced.

The 11th annual Choice Music Prize will be held on the 3rd of March, with a shortlist of 10 albums released today.

Contenders include:

Girl Band Holding Hands with Jamie
HamsandwicH Stories From The Surface
Gavin James Bitter Pill
Jape This Chemical Sea
Le Galaxie Le Club
Colm Mac Con Iomaire And Now The Weather
Roisin Murphy Hairless Toys
Soak Before We Forgot How To Dream
Villagers Darling Arithmetic
Young Wonder Birth

The prize has been a highlight of the Irish music industry since its inception in 2005, with previous winners including Irish music luminaries like The Divine Comedy, Villagers and Adrian Crowley.

There will also be a separate shortlist announced for the Song Of The Year 2015 on January 27th.

Our money is on Girl Band to walk away with the prize in March, but we’ll have to wait and see.
