Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars have topped the UK charts this week with their single Uptown Funk just one week after Fleur East performed the track on the X Factor.
The single, which had been available for digital download, was due to be officially released early next year but due to the phenomenal success of Fleur’s cover of the song during the semi-finals of the hit talent show. Fleur’s performance sparked a lot of controversy particularly from singer Lily Allen who slammed music executives for allowing her to perform the track that had not yet been released.
The track comes from Mark Ronson’s fourth studio album Uptown Special. The single knocked Ed Sheeran out of the number one spot while the Band Aid single came in at third place.
