14 people have died following a junior hockey team bus crash in Canada.
The incident occurred on Friday when the bus carrying 28 people and a lorry collided in the province of Saskatchewan.
According to Royal Canadian Mounted Police, 14 people including the bus's driver were killed.
The other 14 have been taken to hospital where three are in critical condition.
The players present on the bus were between the ages of 16 and 21.
The team that were travelling on the bus, the Humboldt Broncos, have released a statement regarding the accident.
They said the incident was an "incredible tragedy."
"While en route to Nipawin, the Broncos bus was involved in a terrible accident which has resulted in multiple fatalities and serious injuries," they said.
Broncos President, Kevin Garinger, also said:
“Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the families of our staff and athletes as well as to all who have been impacted by this horrible tragedy. Our Broncos family is in shock as we try to come to grips with our incredible loss.”
Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement via Twitter.
He said that he "cannot imagine what these parents are going through."
