A 23-year-old man has died after reportedly taking part in the new online craze known as ‘Punch 4 Punch’ at a party.

Tommy Main from south east London apparently collapsed while playing the game, during which two people trade blows until one gives up, in the early hours of Sunday morning at his home.

The craze has gained popularity recently with some videos appearing online. The person who gives up usually has to perform a forfeit, such as having a drink.

Emergency services were called out to the incident and the father-of-one was taken to hospital in a critical condition but he died shortly afterwards. A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive. Investigators are now awaiting toxicology test results.

Detective Inspector Michael Norman said: “Tommy’s death is being treated as unexplained but I would urge any of his friends who were at the party on the night of his death to make contact. I am especially interested in any image or footage from the night of his death”.

According to reports, a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with Mr Main’s death but has been bailed until September.

One of Mr Main’s brothers paid tribute to him in a touching YouTube video. Underneath it, he wrote: “My baby brother Tommy Main, I will miss you with all my heart. Rest In Peace. I will see you soon, but not yet, not yet. Jon x”.
