Cold, etc. But you know that, sure.

Met Éireann has issued an ice and low temperature warning for 10 counties for this evening and night.

The warning has been issued for all of Connacht (Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo), Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford and Clare.

The warning was issued at 1pm today, Tuesday, and is valid from 6pm this evening until 10am on Wednesday morning.

They said: “Very cold tonight with temperatures falling to between -2 and -5 degrees, possibly colder locally, with a widespread severe frost. Icy patches may form on untreated surfaces. Freezing temperatures will persist well into the day on Wednesday.”

The UK Met Office issued a similar warning for counties in the North of Ireland. Antrim, Armagh, Down and Tyrone have been warned of icy conditions and low temperatures throughout the night.

This comes after Met Éireann forecast showers of rain, hail, sleet and snow and temperatures as low as -4 degrees in the coming days.
