Gardaí have confirmed that the 7-year-old boy who had been missing since this afternoon has been found.

An urgent appeal had previously issued for information on Evan Cronin’s whereabouts after he was last seen on the LUAS platform at Cabra around 4.30pm this afternoon [Friday, October 26].

Gardaí have since updated the statement to confirm that Evan has been found “a short time ago”  in Tyrrelstown.

They thanked the members of the public, and particularly a Dublin Bus driver who helped locate him, for their assistance.

They wrote:

“He was located a short time ago in Tyrrelstown. Thanks very much to a Dublin Bus driver and everyone to shared and assisted, we are very grateful.”

Earlier this evening, a spokesperson for the gardaí issued a statement on Facebook appealing for information.
