Very sad news.
A teenage boy, 13, has drowned in the River Liffey this afternoon. According to The Irish Times, Gardaí responded to a call for help near Chapelizod at approximately 2.15pm.
Emergency services were also called to the scene and shortly after 4pm a body was recovered from the water. It is not clear exactly what happened at this point.
The body will be brought to St James hospital this evening for post mortem examinations.
