A car caught fire on the M50 this afternoon

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Horrific for those involved.

A car caught fire on the M50 this evening but thankfully, no one appears to have been injured in the incident.

According to JOE.ie, the incident took place on the M50 Southbound close to J14 Leopardstown.

The Dublin Fire Brigade were on the scene to attend to the vehicle and afterwards, tweeted images of the car.

It’s believed that heavy delays have resulted due to the fire and the AA Roadwatch account is keeping people up to speed.

It’s thought that the car caught fire for a second time after the Fire Brigade had put it out, causing them to return for a second time.

Motorists are advised to proceed on the motorway but to drive with extreme caution.

If you’re travelling that way, follow The AA Roadwatch Twitter account and the Dublin Fire Brigade, both of which are featured above.
