Better not forget your brolly.

Met Éireann have issued a rainfall warning for 13 counties.

The status yellow alert is for Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford.

The weather warning comes into effect at 6am tomorrow – Friday, November 9 –  and will last until 6pm that evening.

Met Éireann have warned that there will be heavy accumulations of around 25 to 40mm during this time, but that the rain may exceed these limits in mountainous areas.

As for the rest of the day, a forecaster said:

“Friday will be a wet and very windy and blustery day. During the morning rain will become widespread and turn heavy, especially in the west, south and later in the east.

“The rain will clear to heavy showers in the west and southwest by evening. Southeast winds will be very strong and gusty with gales or strong gales near coasts. Top temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees, coolest in the north.

“On Friday night there will be scattered showers, mainly on Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in moderate southwest winds.”

The rest of the weekend weather is looking to be a mixed bag, with sunny spells and showers forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
