Aer Lingus cabin crew have begun their 24-hour strike this morning, ahead of the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The stand-off has arisen over a dispute about roster patterns. IMPACT Trade Union is asking that their members be given the same working hours as pilots.

According to reports, the strikes are taking place at Cork, Shannon and Dublin airports which has led to the cancellation of some 200 flights.

Approximately 30,000 passengers will have their travel plans disrupted however those travelling with other airlines are not expected to be affected.

Crew are apparently planning to march on Aer Lingus headquarters today. It is not yet know when talks will be held to discuss the matter.
