Help.

Rabbits are the best creatures – this is a fact that does not need to be debated.

They’re fluffy, they’re handsome, and they’re very friendly once you get to know them.

In fact, rabbits are so friendly that you would absolutely want to place one inside a sports bag, put a harness on him, and bring him with you on your holidays.

Which is probably what happened when somebody travelling through Australia’s Adelaide airport last night did that exact thing… and then evidently forgot about the rabbit and left the bag in the bathroom causing a bomb scare.

Standard.

ABC.net reports that Australia Federal Police called the bomb squad to the airport last night to investigate an abandoned bag in the women’s bathroom.

The rabbit was wearing a harness but there were no forms of identification inside of the bag.

RSPCA’s Nalika Van Loenen said that the rabbit was unharmed.

“This is the first job of this kind that I’ve come across in my 26 years of service with the RSPCA.

“He is even harness-trained. The police had put him in a large box and [got] some carrots from Subway, so he had some fresh shredded carrot to munch on while they waited for me to arrive.”

The bun was a one-year-old dwarf rabbit.

Van Loenen said that she doesn’t know why the pet was abandoned, but that she has some ideas.

“A couple of scenarios came to mind — his owner could have been leaving the country and knew by leaving their pet in a populated area he would be found and cared for.

“Or they may have been planning on smuggling him on board a plane, but backed out at the last minute. The pink Lorna Jane bag is very distinctive, so we really hope someone noticed it and saw something.”

We wish the little guy all the best for the future.
