An Austin man is looking to the courts in an attempt to get his cash back for a movie date gone awry. Brandon Clarke Vezmar claims his date was texting during a movie and that she left the theatre when he asked her to stop.
He's seeking damages to the amount of $17.31.
Vezmar claims he purchased two tickets for a movie on the 6th of May and within minutes of the film starting his date had allegedly checked her phone 10 to 20 times.
According to CBS Austin, the lawsuit says texting is "in direct violation of the theatre's policy, adversely affecting the viewing experience of Vezmar and others."
"While damages sought are modest," the lawsuit reads, "the principle is important as Defendant's behaviour is a threat to civilised society."
