A US tourist found a package filled with cocaine on a beach in Mayo - with gardaí later confirming that the discovery was worth around €50,000.
Tommy Schlather was on Achill Island, reports the Irish Times, when he stumbled upon an item "the size of an old cassette tape and covered in black and yellow tape".

Gardai took the package away and seemingly later confirmed its worth as well as the substance in question: cocaine.
No other suspicious packages were found.
In November 2008, €750million worth of cocaine was seized off the Irish coast. And in July 2007, €440m of the same drug was intercepted.
