Two men arrested following serious assault in Dublin

A man in his 20s remains in a critical condition.

Two men have been arrested following a serious assault on a man in Dublin.

A man in his 20s remains in a critical but stable condition following the assault. The victim was attacked by a group of men on Anne Street South in Dublin on March 5th.

Gardaí confirmed the two men have been charged. They are due to appear in court at a later date.

Gardaí stated that both men are aged in their 20s.

The males were arrested yesterday, March 6th. They are currently being detained in Pearse Street Garda Station.

Gardaí issued a statement following their arrests;

“Gardaí who are investigating the serious assault of a man (aged in his 20s) that occurred on Anne Street South, Dublin 2 on Su”nday, 5th March 2023, have arrested two males.

“Both men (aged in their 20s) were arrested yesterday, Monday 6th March 2023, and detained in Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.”

“They have since been charged and are due to appear before court at a later date.”

“The injured male remains in a critical but stable position in Beaumont Hospital,” Gardaí added.

Garda investigations are ongoing.
