Body of 66-year-old Irish woman found at apartment in India
According to reports, the woman's body was found on Monday.
The body of an Irish woman has been discovered in an apartment in the town Candolim, which is in the Goa region of India.
The Irish Mirror reports that the 66 year-old was living there alone.
According to reports, police discovered her body on Monday, after a friend of hers told authorities that she wasn't answering her calls or text messages.
It has also been reported that the room in which her body was found had been locked from the outside.
Shobit Saksena, a superintendent for the North Goa police said that an investigation into the case is "in progress".
Mr Saksena said: "We will carry out further investigation as per the autopsy report and statement of her friends."
The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs have been made aware of the tragic discovery.
